Randall Blinson with Blinson Painting (669-5973) painted the exterior of our house at 802 Williamson Drive last summer (as you can see this is not one of those "suspect" anonymous recommendations!). I was impressed from the get-go when he thoughtfully called before one of our meetings to let me know he was running ten minutes late -- and he maintained good communication throughout our work together -- doing what he said he'd do when he said he would. I'm fairly detail-oriented and my husband is a DIYer, so we were potentially tough customers for Randall. His bid came in at half of our highest bid, yet I couldn't be happier with the paint job he did (that is, his lower price did not at all result in a lower quality of work). Much of the 7 layers of paint on our old house had been stripped years ago by my husband, but areas still existed that needed work (our old windows!). Randall and his very nice assistant did the detail work of taking our old paint back down to the wood and reglazing those old windows. He also suggested we use a satin rather than a flat finish, which has made a world of difference. The house almost glows, continues to look clean, and is extra easy to clean with a pressure washer or brush attached to a hose. The only aspect of my experience that kept this from being an out-of-the-park home run was that they didn't really clean up after themselves -- so I had lots of paint chips, shavings, and dusty windows to contend with. However, I would happily use him again (and just make it a point to specifically request the clean-up). He does interior and exterior work. You can contact Randall at 669-5973.
